How many pendants over my dining table?
Comments (6)I've just found two different lights on their site that are 38cm diameter. My wooden plinth on the ceiling is 200cm (table is 310cm). If I have 3 of these lights and mount them 5cm from the ends, that gives me 38cm in between each light! Is that perfect? To have about one light's distance between each light? Also, I am usually a person that goes for something a little out of the ordinary..... so was thinking of doing one bronze light holder, one brass and one chrome just to add a bit of detail. Shall I just do white for the lamp cords or something else? Trying to stay as neutral as possible in the room (i love bright colours but am just using them for accents). Would love to hear your thoughts! There is a choice of two lights - which one should I have?! Pictures of both (one has bulb visible at top and the other doesn't....See MoreKitchen diner layout advice-where does the dining table go?
Comments (3)I would have the table against the wall (opposite window) with either a bench of built in seating, this way you could have space for a chair / sofa on the opposite aide. If you used a bench, you could then put the table centrally for occasions (xmas etc). I think a central feature light would still work with wall lights to table area....See MoreDining table or kitchen island closer to garden?
Comments (6)We have same set up with dining table by the doors. We eat at the table all the time so prefer to be enjoying the view at every meal. If you put island by the doors then the view is obstructed when dining. If would also block a lot more light that way, dining table by doors allows most light/view as it's not a solid block like cabinets...See MoreAdvice on kitchen island/dining table
Comments (15)Hmm too bad, as I put the sink and hob in the island in this layout. Opposite the island a nice hutch. Also moved the fireplace, double sided type, as it would allow for a true open style. Sectional sofa, perhaps tv on the bottom wall. The windows have counterop height units in front, the one opposite the dining table could be a desk, where the tall unit in the corner is placed sideways (open shelving towards desk). Dining table is 230x110cm in the drawing, imagine very comfy chairs around it....See MoreEmily
