Well you can make up a pull out shelf like that with the drawer runners available on hafele and they do the shutter units too ?! About 15 years ago you could get sprung pop up shelves for mixers etc - but most companies withdrew them as they weren't stable enough .... Try popping into 'Magnets' or 'Wren' to see if they do them still ?

Hello Rehanara Quartz is more hard wearing than granite, though both are very practical choices. In terms of look, Quartz has a slightly more uniform look to it, whereas granite is more organic. If you're unsure of what material to use for your kitchen worktops perhaps our blog about different work surfaces might be of use to you? I think you are trying to tone with what is there but in a small space I think you need to go as light as possible. I would be looking for a nearly white granite with warmer veining such as artic white (bear in mind they are often called different things by different suppliers) I also like stone type products like Silestone

My husband is colorblind too (and our 4 year old too). Can't tell the diference between pale green and beige, between purple and navy. He lets me pick the colors for our house and simply says if he likes certain combinations or not. Even if he can't tell what color it is, if it looks good as a whole, he's fine with it. So even if you can't relate to a color, but it looks okay or in balance with the other colors, trust the wife. ;) All earthtones could be lovely, but some pop would be fun too (like sage/seablue). Just depends on the feel/style you want to achieve.
