What were your accessory choices?

This is a great space, congratulations. We have a space with similar dimensions, and were curious about two aspects of it: what are the dimensions of the projector screen and what is the furniture you used? Thank you.

I have always been attracted to the Carmel-by-the-Sea houses designed by Comstock...the interiors are often decorated casually, with comfy sofas, chairs, maple & cherry furniture and nature-inspired art and accessories. Big fantasy. In real life, we are retired on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and live in a 1200 sq.ft. condo one block off a large town's Main St. and two miles from any beach. Except for the building and location, we have the rest...not sure if our decor is English casual, English coastal or ???, but I wouldn't change it, except to buy better quality sofa and chairs.

Hello Claudia, Speaking from an art on walls point of view, I'm loving the challenge, so I present a few choice pieces for the wall above your two armchairs that I think will be a happy compliment to your existing decor and furnishings: As regards the picture above your piano, the colours work well with your room but you don't like the subject, right? If that's the case, this consideration will have to be a decision based on what subject(s) you really like or are quite sentimental to, as opposed to colour matching an art piece just to fit in with the rest of the room. If you do play the piano, musicians are very sentimental people, so you want something above the piano that you can "feel and connect to" when you're sitting there playing. It has to be sentimental to you, irrespective of what it is and what colour it may be, and not to consider it as part of the rooms overall decor. Hi Loula, I would probably start with a geometric rug in grey and white. A shape mirroring that of the chair detailing. This will also still be crisp and contemporary like the rest of the space. Cushions in white will help tie the colours throughout the space rather than just having blocks of it. A large piece of art of work in the same colours on the wall behind the dining table would really work.. maybe a peaceful seascape to add a bit of tranquillity to an area for relaxing. Finish with a few accessories on the table and beside the TV to help bridge the gaps. Grey is a great contemporary colour that will work well with the scheme you have started. You now just need a few more layers to really bring it to life. At the end, as Liz suggested, you could add a single punch of a great colour to add a little warmth - my suggestions would be burnt orange or a deep rich purple. It's a lovely room and the wardrobes look great. I agree with Deborah re the bed. Perhaps some art in a thin black frame over the bed picking up on the black for the radiator and chandelier or something with a brass/gold frame? I love the chair but it just looks a little small against everything else and I'm not sure the mirror is enhancing that space. Is there space on the other side of the room for a larger chair and a large statement mirror, an antique leaner might be good? I might also swap the lamps to use another material and go for something a bit more oversized in a classic style, Oka is probably a good place to look. I'd also add a small post of flowers on the bedside table.
