Fitted or wall mounted bathroom furniture?
Comments (8)Hi. I agree that the space saving stuff is nasty. As well as being ubiquitous, it looks cheap (overly fussy cabinet doors made out of something plastic-y... I don't understand why someone hasn't designed something better). Anyway, wall hung units look sharper and it is really easy to clean the floors. Also, provided the door doesn't bash into that unit, you can fit just as much in two deep drawers than you can in three skinny cabinets. That said, assuming we are looking at the longer wall you have (196) then I would move the toilet over more toward the pillar (the pillar doesn't look deep enough to interrupt the actual bowl of the toilet) and get a 90cm vanity and sink in there, flush against the wall next to the door. I have a bathroom of almost the same width and I have a round mirror above the 90 cm vanity so it isn't shoved up against the wall and have a wall light either side of the mirror. There is plenty of room around the loo and there is ample storage (I have a freestanding cabinet that has little legs and two cupboard doors and a sink mounted on the top so that my tall partner can shave and brush his teeth without all the evidence going all around the bathroom)....See MoreSplash back for cooker against a stone wall
Comments (7)Think you may end up spending a fortune looking for a large enough vintage enamel sign. You could always buy a large poster and get it framed instead to hang behind the aga? That way you can wipe the glass down easily. Here's a few I liked: http://www.allposters.co.uk/-sp/Tea-Sale-Posters_i13714999_.htm http://www.allposters.co.uk/-sp/Ruf-n-Redy-Lemon-Label-Upland-CA-Posters_i4124132_.htm http://www.allposters.co.uk/-sp/Pomona-California-The-Parrot-Brand-Citrus-Label-Posters_i4292532_.htm http://www.allposters.co.uk/-sp/California-Rising-Sun-Brand-Citrus-Label-Posters_i4292562_.htm Equally, you could just frame a large section of nice wall-paper if you'd prefer something a little more neutral....See MoreWall mounted taps? Comments (13)Thank you At No 19 and OnePlan for your photos. Great food for thought... What would you do? A. Keep the wall as it is and opt for a freestanding vanity unit and a normal toilet. B. Have the vanity as above and have a half wall approx 75-100mm on the middle wall between the windows and normal toilet. C. Build out a 250mm stud wall throughout and have a concealed cistern toilet, recessed mirror cabinet but have a freestanding bath that’s snug against the walls....See MoreInspiration please! Comments (27)Hi Minnie thanks for your advice & lovely comments. I had that thought about putting it on the shelf but worried that the water splash’s might ruin the shelf. I opted for wall mounting it in the end. Hope it looks okay, I’m pleased with it & the wall colour definitely lifts the room. Happy bank holiday weekend!...See MoreCarolina
