Comments (24)Shed integrated into covered seating area, back of shed has door opening onto street/ lane. I am guessing that you are UK based, hence the covered seating area. You could put doors on the 'open area' and have it as a garden room too with a sofa and small stove?. Nice for those Sunday mornings with a hot cup of coffee and the Sunday papers. Curved path laid on nidagravel, edged in steel Turf lawn Plant herbs and veg instead of shrubs Two beds either side of decking area Replace fence and top with trellis for privacy...See MoreMy raised terrace or balcony dilemma. Comments (42)Hi original poster! I know it’s 7 years since you asked this but would love to know what you did. We are not in a similar position with a similar looking house at the back but even steeper. I know that a full extension and lowering the internal floors would be ideal but we can’t afford that and need a 5-7 year fix. Please let us know what you decided and why ☺️...See MoreLooking for thoughts to give this terraced cottage some more kerb appe
Comments (25)It's all about the colour of the render and front door. I would go for a dark paint on the render with a complimentary front door colour. Keep the windows white but think "Town House" look. The house is small so I'd go to the expense of using Farrow and Ball paint (often discounted at Bank Holiday time at the superstore beginning with H). Then improve the appearance of the windows by having window boxes, painted same colour as the render, filled with ever green plants such as a mix of Box and Ivy. We are going for the Town Smart Look here, and nothing can be more sad than a flower filled window box that needs attention. If you want an outside lantern then buy one that fits close to the wall like a "coach lamp" go for the most expensive that you can afford ideally in a galvanised grey colour. It will add considerable style to the property....See MoreWhat would you use an outdoor terrace for?
Comments (15)We are remodeling our home and have a huge pile of concrete from removing a fireplace and chimney. I'm interested in building a similar terrace and barrier wall on my hillside and saw your comment on this process, using recycled concrete. Can you give me more information about your process?...See MoreAlix W
