Comments (7)I was just at the tile shop yesterday, we are doing the same Calacatta tile. She said if we want to make the room appear taller to tile them vertically, and if we want to widen the space to place them horizontally. She also said, with those types of tiles, to avoid too much marbling, to place them all in a row, non staggered. (like your middle photo) but I would mix the tiles up a little. Comments (3)I love marble tiles!! The porcelain marble tiles I used to sell looked incredibly luxurious. No less luxurious than the real thing (although the pesky grout lines are a shame). Buy them in a large size for less grout lines. Comments (9)I decided to do what your thinking about (coloured grout on floor, then white grout on walls). I think it looks OK not odd, but obviously is personal opinion. Pic attached part way through work, I didn't use a grey marble but a gold vein marble. I think I would have preferred tiles lined up between floor and wall still but you don't notice too much after a bit. Gives you an idea on effect...See MoreMartin
