lounge/diner in need of ideas

You can then ensure everything with in the room works and can see it all in a 3D image before you commit to changes. You will also then gain help with trade discounts on purchases which can save you in the long run. There are plenty on here to look at so it maybe worth asking around. Looking at the space can you just confirm what it is behind the sofa? you say a partition.. is that to another room? If changed to glass would it effectively be a large window pane? If so what would than look onto? Grey with the royal blue sounds like a great base for the colour scheme and then one of the other vibrant colours for accessorising the space - this would allow you to change that additional colour at a later date if required, without needing to redo the whole space. A glass centerpiece above the table sound fab and would bounce and reflect light so would visually increase the size of the room as well as being clear so not distracting too much from the view through the space and out of the back windows. You would be best - budget wise - to look for this second hand on e-bay or Gumtree for something really unique or somewhere like Wayfair maybe reasonable for you. I hope this helps and wish you all the best, Gina...See MoreNeed inspiration please to liven up our lounge!
Comments (9)It's a cosy room apart from the radiator wall. I would paint the alcoves very dark, so that the TV is not s dominant. I think a radiator cover, or painting the radiator in the same colour would help. Then get a big picture, or a wall hanging for that blank space. . I wonder if you could persuade your husband that a lower tv stand would allow for more comfortable viewing?, it is quite high. I don think a bigger tv would help....See Morelarge lounge diner need help me with fire and tv placement please!
Comments (18)It's further than I thought. My concern was the stepped in wall and also the opening to the dining area but as it's further up than I thought the ".entrance" should be fine. You would however be left with an alcove between new and old fire. I wonder what shelves would look like there (I couldn't find an exact pic) or just box it in.. Tadelakt is similar to polished concrete, polished plaster, microcement etc, you could look at any of them just to add a bit of texture/warmth. You could always pay someone to do a CAD design in your room if this is your preferred option? Having said that if you frequently have large parties maybe it's not a great idea to have a fixed structure there? Maybe a tv and fire side by side is a better option? Will see if I can find a pic...See MoreNeed inspiration to complete my kitchen/diner please!
Comments (52)However, if your cabinet is actually two pieces that can be separated, you could alternatively create more symmetry by placing the fridge centrally in between them. I would place the cabinets flush against the walls, leaving an equal gap around each side of the fridge. Consider cutting the skirting board to make them truly flush for a built in look (or alternatively use a thin filler piece painted to match.) Then you would need two boards… one atop the cabinets wall to wall, and a shorter one along the top of the fridge that goes cabinet to cabinet....See More- 6 years ago
