5 quick and easy kitchen makeover tips
Comments (5)Best tip there is to CLEAN the kitchen. I'm far from being the best housekeeper but I'm amazed how proud people are of their new stove/hob/island chairs/microwave, yet the kitchen and items are grubby. Clean up + tidy away all those bits that have ended up in kitchen for no good reason, add in some new utensil holders/fruit bowls, hang up some larger hand utensils or remove them, put away all jam + marmalade jars or clean rhe outside + gather together in a small tray, replace chopping board or get one. Change tea-towels, or just use the clean untattered ones, ditto any table linen, place mats, coasters. Yep clean up + tidy up + tidy away first - then you'll see what'll work quickly + cheaply. Anyway, units have to be cleaner before painting...See MoreColour to go with F&B 'Railings'...?
Comments (18)Hi Jackie, Here is a closeup photo of the wall upstairs with the pictures illuminated with a spotlight in the ceiling. As our hallway is very small, it's hard to get a good zoomed out photo, but I'll put one up when I get a chance. The house is still a work in progress, but downstairs we are going to build a recess into the wall and sit an orange glass vase in it. This contrasts really well against the Railings.... Lighting wise, I assume that you have an attic above the hall. Is it boarded or do you have access to the ceiling and wiring still? If this is the case, you can get an electrician to fit spots for you after decorating is complete if you need a bit more light in there. Do you get much natural light into the hall? I can see in your photo that the front door is solid, is there a window next to it? Our front door is partially glazed and faces West. We get the evening sun through the door and it changes the Railings colour from dark grey to a much lighter Bluey green grey : ) Thanks, Peter...See MoreRAL colour code to match F&B black blue
Comments (15)The cupboards look nice but I know what you mean when you have a colour in your head and it doesn't look like that. I'm thinking get the door company to do the black blue and then get the closest RAL colour for the garage door and then perhaps get someone to spray it with F&B later on. Anyway the saga continues... Will send pics and keep you posted when we sort it out. Thanks for all your help and suggestions...See MoreCloakroom tile beading off white or off black?
Comments (25)I actually painted the beading in brilliant white (like the walls) gloss, but over time it yellowed. Annoyingly the same has happened to my other woodwork, doorposts etc in bathroom and toilet, as a result of lack of natural light....See MoreTani H-S
