Need advice for my hall & stairs! Please :)
Comments (21)A vertical column radiator would indeed be a good option, and I like the anthracite idea. Alternatively, if you could find a traditional tall victorian radiator (may not be easy to source) and finish it in a bronze/verdigris, it could work really well with your dark mint and would be a real statement! Your staircase is lovely, and I would go with a contemporary striped runner, white painted sides and a simple rod....See MoreLaminate flooring in hall and landing but carpet on stairs?
Comments (10)Hi Ann, you most certainly can! We think it makes a lovely design statement. Halls and stairs are great spots to introduce personal style and you can afford to be bold in your interior choices. If your hallway and staircase is a wide, open and airy space, why not let a striped carpet take centre stage. Cormar’s Avebury collection, pictured below, is made from 100% pure new wool comes in either a neat, level loop pile or a textured loop pile and offers four tonal striped designs and eight plain, stylish shades: https://www.cormarcarpets.co.uk/product_avebury/product_avebury.php. A bold carpet colour might be overpowering in a large living room but can look at home on a staircase. Experiment with a deep homely purple (Cormar’s Sensation Twist in Wild Cherry) or a charcoal grey shade to add a pop of style. Complement with lots of white or cream woodwork to keep the look simple and sophisticated. https://www.cormarcarpets.co.uk/product_sensationtwist/product_sensationtwist.php Let us know what you decide to go with!...See MoreHelp with hall/stairs/landing
Comments (4)I'd go for option B. I think you need some hint of another colour, but I can understand your dislike of coloured walls and wallpaper (you're not alone in the wallpaper loathing!) Other than a greig colour, have you though of something a bit like F&B Dimity? which will give you the contrast between your white woodwork and the walls, whilst still keeping it pale and neutral, but adding a bit of warmth to counter of the lack of natural light. I think it will also compliment your new travertine...See Moreis this mad for a hall/stairs/landing?
Comments (12)I like bright colours, but when you live with bright patterns I think they can be too in your face. The colours are lovely but not in equal parts. Duck egg blue always looks elegant, mixed with pale, minty greens and different shades of pink it can look lovely. You must get the quantity of bold colour right though. Deep pink could be a chair or cushion, the colour easiest on the eye can be the walls, or a neutral colour works well in a large space. Neutral can be shades of brown, green, yellow, muted red, it doesn't have to be beige, cream or natural....See MoreLaura Connolly
