flooring- same all over house or a mix?
Comments (1)I have put dark wood all through my house (except bathroom where I have large travertine tiles). I think it looks better as flows through the house. I'd go for wood all the time over carpets. If you wanted to break up the flooring you could put down rugs or a cow hide. This way you can update your look by changing these smaller items rather than pulling up carpet. Wood is also easier to keep clean! Comments (5)I would normally go for the same flooring everywhere, however, on this occasion i voted no because the kitchen doors don't go well with the flooring. White and Cream just don't look great together. If that's the actual kitchen , then a wood effect tile, LVT etc would look a lot better with it. Or if it's not the actual kitchen then go for richer colour kitchen door....See MoreNEUTRAL PAINT THROUGHOUT - ANY IDEAS?!
Comments (12)You can't choose paint from paint charts. It looks completely different on the wall and often looks different room to room because of natural light. I wouldn't worry too much. Timeless isn't cool, it's creamy as is Clunch. It's 'only' a holiday let, but of course you want everything to be perfect. It kind of depends what market you're going for. Lot's of people get a bit 'judgy' when they look at pics ( I do on Air BnB ). My wife has turned down places because the curtains won't block enough light in the bedroom etc, but i'm not sure even she has judged a paint colour tone yet....See MoreWood flooring or LVT throughout? Including kitchen? Pls, your advice!
Comments (7)I have solid wood flooring in most of my house, tiling in the kitchen and hall. We bought the wood unfinished and did all of the finishing ourselves (it was already sanded). Cost wise it worked out around £30 per square metre which is really good. Most of the wood I finished in Osmo Oil either Raw first and then clear or white first and then clear. It does darken and warm with age so this needs to be factored in when designing colour palettes. If you like fairly neutral palettes this can work well, if you prefer lots of colour then a more consistent Amtico product or factory finished wood may be preferable. I wanted to be able to re-finish and re-oil my floors if necessary. I have LVT in my studio which is really practical and looks good, however it doesn't feel like wood....See More- 5 years ago
