POLL: Metro tiles - hit or miss?
Comments (56)I used white ones with white grout as splash back around hob and just up to window height around the rest of the kitchen. They were inexpensive and look quite stylish and unobtrusive. I would never opt for coloured or patterned tiles as they would inevitably date and tiling is SO permanent. I do however hate them with dark grout....See MoreFlat or bevelled metro tiles?
Comments (37)I am not crazy about metro tiles as they look too busy to me but they do have their uses as splash backs or to tile a nichewhere a larger tile woud look ridiculous. My house had (until last week) an extremely ugly corner fireplace and breast piece up to the ceiling which I have ripped out. For now I am going to use the cast iron log burner with a metal chimney, to reflect some of the heat back and to make a feature of it I will line the walls with metallic metro tiles but have yet to settle on exactly how. There are oversized metro tiles available that look a lot better than the standard brick size which I prefer. Comments (7)I love my metal trim... you can have a rounded edge but the popular choice is the box trim.. and you can have corner pieces rather than the mitred corners pictured above which is such a small detail that makes a big difference.. adds to cost though. Go for a brushed finish, my opinion is the polished is scratchable / scuffs (it's aluminium so not hardest of metal)....See MoreBattle Of The Metro Tile Splashbacks
Comments (0)Metro tile splashbacks are a surefire way to add some pizzazz to an often overlooked bathroom element. Both of these bathroom splashbacks are adorned with bold metro tiles and really add an extra 'wow' factor to their respective bathrooms. The first bathroom uses sleek white metro tiles to complement the unique tints found in the majestic flooring, meanwhile the second bathroom opts for a beautiful blue splashback to provide a dash of colour.
