Hi, would you please tell me the name of the backsplash material ？ Is it the same as the countertop.?

Hi The work top is Dekton X-Gloss and the backsplash is Glass

Tiles are one way to introduce some pops of colour in your kitchen. If you are worried about the grout discolouring, use epoxy grout which is more resilient to liquid staining. Also, if you use a coloured grout, discolouration will be less noticeable. If you choose textured tiles with rectilinear edges, grout lines are almost invisible. Using tiles can look more traditional compared to glass or stainless steel. The problem with stainless steel is keeping it looking good. Drip marks and grease are instantly noticeable. Glass is less obvious when splashed. They are both more industrial and modern looking. What about using the same material that makes up your worktop as the splashback? Most manufacturers of manmade worktops also do an 11mm thick splashback and upstand.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with ideas, and especially Jen for giving me a bit of inspiration and a light bulb moment! You are so right, holding your nerves whilst it’s going up is the hardest!! . I did opt for a splash back only and extended it so it goes a little under the cupboards. I think your instincts are good here - a light worktop would really lift the space. Maybe a lightly speckled white? Marble you will need to be careful that the vein matches in colours to those tiles or it will feel a little off. And a warmer colour on the walls (it doesn't have to be strong but it will bring the room together as one) will help. Your floor looks to have some yellow tones in it so you will need to look at greys with a yellow tone (Like FB Cornforth White) or soft greens work well with greys and white and make it feel cosier. Definitely cost up the difference in replacing the worktops versus changing the tiles too as it may be cheaper. In terms of lights and bar stools what look are you aiming for? Is it modern minimal and to feel sleek and streamlined or do you want something a little softer with a more natural feel or something completely different? Dependent on that it will help focus what to go for in terms of bar stools and lighting as the options are endless as I'm sure you know! From glass to rattan shades and everything in between!
