Bigger ottoman or 2 coffee tables

Please give advice if i should have a larger ottoman or 2 coffee tables? Guest complain that they have no place to put drinks and the ottoman is too far to rest feet.

You can find an ottoman that has an inset tray in the middle. Or an accent table that tucks under the sofa. The shelf on the bottom of the ottoman is also nice for storing blankets or remotes. Good luck!

I would go for a much bigger rug. Problem is they're hard to find and cost a fortune, but I'm wondering how it would look if you turned this one around and added another right next to it (stitch them.) I'm about to do this in my lounge. That is likely to be the cheapest option if this would be a good size. I'm also unsure about the colour. The tiles look grey, but the rug is brown based? Generally it's best to have one or the other - a room based around browns or greys?

That's a shame re the tv! Another option, move the bookcase to where the light grey sofa is with the sofa in front, have the other sofa opposite and the tv where the bookcase is. I don't know if the plan is slightly deceptive? But you may be able to have a small table between the doors. I think your best bet is just to play around with the sofas and draw out a template for table and chairs so you can see what it's like to walk round it etc. Do also consider a dining bench on one side. I would try and bring furniture into the room though ie coffee table etc as it will make it feel bigger and definitely use rug/s to zone living and dining. The blinds are quite nice. Roman blinds, especially if you go for a wood floor, will give a softer look and perhaps with a pattern to introduce some? You could also use curtains depending on room layout if there's room. A table behind a sofa may also work, will see if I can find a pic!

I think your table is too small, it just doesn't fit right. If you sit on the sofa with a cuppa can you comfortably put down the hot cup on the table without having to struggle? I would rearrange the room slightly. Have the sofas opposite each other. The one along the window wall stays where it is and the other one faces it, with coffee table in the middle. The TV/unit then goes to the wall opposite the fireplace. I think that would then make the fireplace the main feature of the room. At the moment the coffee table stands out as the feature, which it shouldnt. Try it? You never know! Lovely colours by the way, I just like thinking of rearranging to improve what you have!

Hi Kimberly. You have a lovely room and furniture. You can use cushions to tie all together. You could repeat colours and patterns from the armchairs. If you want a plain rug an Ikea Osted rug would look very good in your space. Make sure you get a large rug that goes under couches and chairs.
