Please help! Curtain dilemma....
Comments (2)I'd go with the red. You have chosen it because you like it and it will balance the feature wall. Choose a contrast black&white to go with the fire, or patterned navy or... for cushions and a few choice pieces spread around and I think it would look good. Maybe a rug too in front of the fire could include several of the colours used - would make it more cosy....See MoreBifold doors - blinds?curtains?internal colour
Comments (1)Grey and white for the doors will look fine. Do you need blinds/curtains? Are you overlooked at all? I notice from your idea books that you like a streamlined modern look so I'd go for eyelet curtains in a plain fabric. If your walls are white, I'd look for a light grey curtain or if they're a taupe then look for a fabric that is the same colour or a shade or two darker. If you get anything too patterned the curtains will become too heavy, especially when pulled! Hope this helps......See MoreBifold or Sliding doors dilemma?
Comments (20)We decided on a sliding door ( 1 fixed panel plus one sliding) for our 4.2m wide opening in our soon to be built house. This worked for us as we didn't want too much frame to block our view. I will have a table to be positioned fairly near the fixed panel. Most of all it was because I could control our dog going in and out by varying the opening...he likes to sit by our present sliding door and put his look out thru the gap and look out! Make sure you get a handle/locking system that's robust, some of the ones I looked at seemed really fiddly and a bit fragile for a triple glazed 2m wide door that's used a lot....See MoreCurtains or Blinds for BiFolds and Glass Roof, yay or nay?
Comments (13)We got ours from Apple Blinds which is local to where we are in the North West. They are battery powered so didn’t need to be wired in. They operate by remote control which is attached to the wall with a discrete bracket and looks a bit like a smart home monitor I think. They need charging only once every few months. They charge by plugging in to charger for a few hours. The blinds when open are also very discrete but you should check whether they can be attached around your window frames. I agree with others that open glass is nice but I think for security purposes it is a good idea to have something for when you are away or over night etc...See MoreIsabel Walter
