Fitted wardrobes for large vaulted ceiling bedroom
Comments (7)Hello, I have searched for some images for your inspiration. As you on the the first two images, there is gap as well between the wardrobe and ceiling. If you believe visually it works for you, than go ahead. Alternatively, you could place some baskets as well on the top for extra storage, personally I would consider it if that helps. On the last two images, you can notice that the ceiling is high and the wardrobe is reaching the ceiling. I have the same in my bedroom and love all the space I have even if I need a chair to reach the top cabinets (I store there stuff I hardly ever use), so all the space is used up for storage. I say don't move sown your built in wardrobe to the middle. On the right I love that sitting corner, where you also have light entering your room. Looks pretty nice, stick to your plan! Comments (8)be careful you don't overload the circuit. nice idea having lots of bulbs but work out the amps / watts / volts on your ahem 'ring', I put that in quotes because most UK homes are indeed not 'ring' but in fact long spares connected by one 15 - 20 amp wire designed to run about 15 x 40watt bulbs. Consider a transformer running more low volt low amp options - like LEDs. there are plenty of types that match industrial retro bulb filaments. Also think about the safety of wiring. Most people don't realise that coiling wires and hanging things from metal can affect the current and earth regulations of 'lamps'. high current / fire / safe earthing eyebrows raising. The beauty of a bought option is it will probably have some form of certification and testing involved. We did something similar in an office and each tail connected on a single 12v transformer to an led bulb without an Inverter(cheaper longer lasting). Same effect much safer. It replaced the 'ever exploding bulb spider that was always making the dimmer switches melt option' that ran on 240v looked great, but wasn't really thought through....See MoreHelp on how to paint vaulted ceiling
Comments (29)Thanks all! looks like I've got a relatively even split of people who prefer the standard "walls colour + ceiling white" Vs an all colour. At the moment I am edging towards all colour - but mainly for the easier reason of no cutting in - I'm getting nervous enough of having to do this on a standard 2.4m wall that I could reach easily, let alone this 3.4m one at various awkward angles!...See MoreHow to make high ceiling bedroom cosy?
Comments (3)I have 12' ceilings too. I've gone for bedside pendants with black fabric flexes which make the most of the dramatic height but also create pools of light just above the bedside tables. They create a very cosy atmosphere when the main light is off. Having a switch either side of the headboard has been a game changer too. It feels very luxurious and hotel-like....See MoreHelen C
