Revamping a 60s house

Hi, we are in the process of buying a detached 60s double fronted house. I think it has a quirky vibe to it, but we wanted to change the look of it by adding weatherboard to where it is painted, or painting it a different colour altogether and giving it more of a "cottage" look; and also adding an oak arched porch to the front door. Would be grateful for any suggestions anyone has. Thank you.
