Wallpaper for office?
Comments (21)All the info is on the picture ghesp, I've just had a look and there's quite a variety of colourways. I like the one shown. It's given me an idea though, I have a very large print, in sections, of a 19th century sketch map of our local county, I could probably display it as wallpaper in my wee office :-) So thanks for the inspiration Silkworm...See MoreHow to paint cane bed
Comments (80)Hello Minnie, There will be the hallway and some in the bedroom. Yes gee whizz, I prefer to design than actually do in this case. Painting I find enjoyable but papering definitely not so much. Your sons room sounds quite a difficulty so gr8 for you that you managed, and I can definitely see how you would feel a sense of achievement. I do feel quite pleased with how it all ties in. I also just used a paint brush to brush it all and no plumb line.. Normal scissors and a sense of urgency.. Yes the size was quite a dramatic feeling. It's not a small room I don't think, and it's just as it is shot wise but the dark on dark made the whole thing feel larger and more elegant. The paper is Oreste Carbon by Zoffany. Thank you yes the tapes on the frames, I do like a mix of old and new and I use my picture rails so I thought it a good way of showing. Ah the lamp .. It's broken in 3 places and held together with glue and plumbing seals.. It was from Graham and Green but over 10 years ago. Never seen anything like it since, not sure if somewhere like eBay would have something similar.. and it's rather tricky on uneven boards. I have a large marble weight that sits on its base as the counter balance doesn't really allow for anything but the most even of flooring. Got a few flowers from Oka and thank you for telling me, I did look in my emails to find code. Waiting for a payment for a day from October so should not have really. It's one of those things where you have to buy a few at a time for several months till you can achieve a really fantastic display. Yes Bob has her ways but so gorgeous I try to give her things and the door mat is a good one too but somehow... Like the sound of the book that may have to go on my list.. Love the veggie lunch.. I am down to chicken occasionally and fish regularly. will be looking for a recipe for the stained glass biscuits.. :))...See MoreRefurbish or skip?
Comments (29)I would suggest you put them in the skip… only if I knew where the skip was parked & I could then take them for myself! They're beautiful, like a person with good bone structure, & with only a few adjustments I reckon they could be really stunning. Building on other's comments above, I'd suggest sanding the table top but oiling it (instead of varnish). I'd also go with the suggestion of reducing the height of the seat pad - it just looks too high and the square edge of it looks wrong with the rounded lines of the set), or when reupholstering - with a variety of different tones of the one type of fabric, as suggested - rounding off the edges of the foam & pulling the fabric tighter to give a more rounded look. If the difference in colour between the timber of the floor and the legs bothers you, although it doesn't look bad to me, I'd dip just 8" of the legs of the entire set into a pale cream paint. Some might see that as sacrilegious but it would modernise the look of the set & can look amazing so long as the heights of the paint are all the exact same! Lastly, unless all 6 chairs are needed all the time, I'd place two elsewhere so around the table looks roomier. Best of luck! Would love to see the final outcome....See MoreHouzz Pros: Share your trend predictions for 2017
Comments (26)I predict there will be a continued appetite for pale/ white interiors which will fuel innovative ways of delivering this with more finishes and layered whites for interest. I think kitchen cabinets will stay pale but be available in silk or two textured finishes as they move away from gloss and lacquered finishes. Available woods will become paler and more Nordic. I think we will see more textured wall finishes such as wall panels and I think lighting will become more sophisticated allowing us to select warm or cool white from our lighting sources depending on outside light levels and time of day. I think the new metal will be burnished brass and available in kitchen handles, light switches and accessories. I predict a warm summer and inevitably greater spend on outside living with French chic plates and glasswear and more solutions to keep us in the garden with increased choices of patio heaters and soft lighting to enjoy lazy summer evenings and cooler mornings. Let's check in a years time and see if anything came true? I hope so. switches and accessories....See MoreSonia
