White or Shaded White.

Hi. Can't decide. All the walls in this room are painted F&B Shaded White, should I leave the wall with the manger on white or paint in Shaded White?
I want the manger to stand out as this is the feature in the room, but don't want it to look cold and unwelcoming as it's a big room and the ceilings are 3m high
Hay rack is going to have warm lights along the back too.

Will you be using a different colour for the woodwork? If this is also white you will have a clash - much better to choose a hue with a bit of contrast. Little Greene Ceviche 230 is pretty neutral but definitely not 'white' - F&B Wimbourne is yellow, Shadow White is grey, Dimity is red etc. Do you want a warm hue with a red or yellow undertone? or a cool hue with blue or grey undertone? All will look 'white' if there is no actual white nearby. Hope that helps

Yes, I want to repaint the ceilings and walls only (The wood work will be white but the doors will be a coloured F&B paint... as of yet I don't need any advise on that project) I will look at timeless paint, thanks so much Colourhappy and Forzaitalia for your advice, it looks like I have a busy weekend of painting ahead of me, any volunteers? :)

EE BB most paints that are described as white have some colour in them. Unless they are like the old deluxe ones (Apple white etc) they have the three primaries in, thus making them look a bit grey. However, if you look at a paint chart you will see that some look blueish, some greenish, some creamy (Yellow) and some taupe (red or red violet) etc. This will be more or less heightened by the aspect of a room and the amount of light it gets and then changed again artificial lighting. I teach colour theory and believe me, making sense of neutrals is the hardest thing. When it comes to colour, light is the most significant thing.

I have a flat which we rent out. It was all painted in Timeless. I found it cold and with a green tinge. The flat is now painted in dulux easycare in pure brilliant white. No cutting in at the walls and ceilings. It is very hard wearing and marks and scuffs wash off easily.
