Bathoom renovation advise please!

We live in a single storey Cottage built approx 1900 which has been added to and extended. The original bathroom is off the kitchen (not ideal). We renovated this when we moved in 20 years ago and 15 years ago we extended and converted one of the bedrooms to another bathroom so we now have two. The newer bathroom has a large shower.
It is now time to renovate the original bathroom and really looking for some advice on how best to proceed. We don't really want or need a bath so happy to have a large shower. The soil stack is in the kitchen in the bottom of a cupboard and I am not averse to having this moved if it helps. Ideally I would like some division between the kitchen and the bathroom but without making the space too cramped.
The room is approx 2.1m x 2.1m. There is a concrete floor and low ceiling height of 2.13m with a flat roof which is also being replaced.
I have gone over and over how best to replan this space but just in need of some practical advise on what will actually work. Basic requirement is for whb/wc and a decent size shower. Any ideas would be very gratefully received.

Comments (13)I would find a great builder with links with a structural engineer to help you see what might be possible and how much it would cost. When you know that you have sufficient funds to proceed you should then consider the creative side of things. You can explore layouts with a designer, concept planner or architect. The architect may be the most expensive option but you would have their technical expertise. Comments (7)It looks like you all get the idea. There are no limits, apart from our imagination, to the configurations. I have no idea why they are called jib doors. Does anyone know? I do know from experience though that they work a treat. Many years ago I was visiting Abbotsford the home of Sir Walter Scott. You'd need to give dimensions of the bathroom to get someone to figure out that - also what size of bath do you think you need? 5 years agoHow many bedrooms do you have? Do you need this original 2nd bathroom? Could it perhaps be converted to a utility room with just a toilet/sink in?

5 years agoI think the only sensible option is this one:-
It's to scale and gives you a 1200 x 900 shower, this leaves you 900mm to place a toilet at the far end. Also, when exiting the shower, in the direction of the wall opposite, you will have 1200mm of space to dry off in, so, spacious enough!
Opposite is a vanity with mirror, i've used a 900mm vanity, so you can see you've got a good amount of room around you .
I used the same tiles all over to give the illusion of space, so wall and floor matching
