Sourcing products for UK clients

UK relevant -

After completing quite a few projects now and the majority including bespoke items, what do you guys find good for sourcing online items apart from the shop on Houzz?

I have previously used Coachhouse which is trade only. Has anyone else come across any other good alternatives that deal with trade only in the UK?

Im talking about dining chairs at around £200 not £600+.

I don't use any Trade only companies for furniture. I would recommend only what is on trend, so items from popular main stream firms such as Swoon, Wayfair and Made.com would feature heavily in searches for them.

Does it have to be trade only as I know Coachhouse is quite widely available? Hopefully some pros will jump in with some independent companies but companies such as West Elm, Oka, Rockett St George, Graham & Green etc all offer trade discounts

Hi LTS So are you in Hertford then? As your previous kitchen came from David Dewing. I think you should come and see me!☺ As I say be careful with Howdens kitchens, they are the very bottom of the market in terms of quality etc. Their business model is all designed around suppling product to builders and chippys. No disrespect to your friends husband, but there are carpenters and then there are kitchen fitters, and I have several kitchen fitters that that have customers contact them directly and they tell them to come and see me as they know the customer will get a properly designed kitchen that is good value and they get to fit a decent quality product that is designed to fit the space exactly. I don't pay a commission or anything to these fitters, I just recommend them for a few fits a year. So another angle could be that we supply you with a kitchen and your friends husband fits it, I'm sure it would open his eyes to hopefully a better way! I realise that I am getting a bit ahead of myself here, but it would probably be worthwhile at least you giving me a call tomorrow for a chat. CK

I feel your frustration, as I too, find many items that I would love to use in my renovations that are from the US and can not find here in the UK. That's where I find knowing a good joiner or carpenter comes in handy. All the best.

Hi Brad, Was it on Houzz or elsewhere that you found the photo? If it was on Houzz I can direct you to either the product itself or the professional who makes/sourced it. If not, it's still worth browsing through the product directory on the site for sideboards: Alternatively eBay, Wayfair, Ikea, Made, Habitat are just a few off the top of my head that might stock something similar. Thanks Minnie, I know coachhouse is widely available, however getting it direct rather than from a reseller is a completely different ballgame. The resellers give you a trade discount but its merely 20%. Thanks for naming a few others.

I can imagine, I've come across a number of items from there marketed under a different name that are being sold for 2 or 3 times the price and that's obviously 2/3 times the price of a reseller rather than coachhouse!
