Hallway lighting ideas please
Comments (17)Hi, Landing and loft conversion looks good, next tricky part will be picking the pendant you want. Please may I ask, have you opted for an electric velux window blind or have you simply left the window without a blind because the positioning of the window doesn't need a blind for privacy. Just something else I am thinking about. Hope the knocking down of the wall went well, I bet the space feels massive now. Thanks for asking. I am adding an extension to the kitchen with a little utility and toilet at the end. knocking the wall down between kitchen and diner to make open plan. Downstairs bathroom is becoming third bedroom. Upstairs I am adding a dormer at the back to make a bigger second bedroom and adding dormer to the front for bathroom which also means a new small landing. New central heating, retire etc. also changes outside garage has gone ready for a new one to be built. Attached are photos of my hallway, first is at top of stairs before little hallway extra was added second is the start of new hallway, walls coming out for bathroom door which is wher dormer will be the planning on putting the velux next to it. All very exciting stuff, I'm not the most imaginative so it's difficult to imagine what it will all look like in the end where to put lights etc, similar to you really...See MoreDesign ideas for hallway please
Comments (19)Hi Paul. I like the idea of a 3D white wall or have a look at the elitis textured wallpapers on the link. They're expensive but stunning. I'd go for something very pale. I think the hall needs a statement light where the downlighter is. Perhaps an architectural style in a natural material which will tie in with the seascape. Could you also have a narrow console over the radiator? I like the monochrome scheme in the living room, it just needs some texture and pattern, I agree with Carolina would either change the table or rug. Maybe a black or grey and white patterned rug or even a grey cowhide? I'd add a grey sheepskin on the sofa and then add patterned and textured cushions in shades of white and grey. Do you have another piece of art the same size as the hare and both could hang over the sofa? When the Xmas tree is down I'd look at adding a large potted plant and then perhaps add a couple of gold or copper accessories, vase/dish for the table etc https://www.amara.com/shop/brand/elitis/wallpaper...See Morehallway ideas please.
Comments (4)Hello Ummimez2, When we have found turquiose or teal too dark or bold (or cliche), we have often paired a lighter blue with black and white features. We believe a shade such as Sky blue (https://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/blue-paint/sky-blue) or Regency blue (https://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/blue-paint/rege1) could help create a bright space with subtle reflection of the sea, and complement your wall and floor tiles yet not distract from your beautiful floor design. Hope this helps a little, and all the best with your project! (When you find the colour that best suits your home, could you post an update of your finished space? We would love to see your tiles again!) Best, The Rocke team at Cotterell and Co...See MoreI have a long, very narrow hallway which is dark. Any ideas please?
Comments (5)There are a few things you can do. 1. Create a focal point, a simple way of doing this is using paint on one end of the corridor and the ceiling. 2. Lighten the space with a more reflective paint colour and Increase the lighting in the space with a mix of pendant lights and wall lights 3. Add a mirror to reflect natural light into the space. 4. Embrase the darkness with some rich dark tones. These images are not my own and have been taken from pinterest for illustration purposes....See MoreLydi
