Ideas to improve exterior entrance porch
Comments (23)As you can see, we actually own a large portion of the drive to the rear which we would never use, and we have been told the neighbour is keen to own, so there is some negotiating to be done there, and hopefully we can take the garden in front of our property. I am wary of putting up fencing just to the side their door , as it could maybe spoil the appearance of the house as a whole, but then I think, why should they get all the glory? There would be added value to visually separating the two properties, for ourselves, but maybe not for them....See MoreIdeas on Floor Plans for house extension
Comments (6)I think the main bedroom is wide enough for a headboard wall and room to walk around it. Personally I wonder if the bathrooms are undersized, whether a four bed house with bigger bathrooms would be better, whether you will see a big RSJ cutting across your living room ceiling and if this could be reconsidered. I also think the dining room and kitchen space are undersized and the kitchen footprint seems no bigger than the original which begs the question about where fridges and ovens and storage will fit....See MoreExtension idea to move kitchen around
Comments (8)Hi All, Sorry for delay as the project was side-lined for a while. But it’s back in force again and I have the design I wanted. Please see the attached floor plan idea. I am sorry the old floor plan I presented was just copied from estate agent advertisement and it missed the porch which is playing important role in new design. However, there is a problem with the design as it requires to trim some part of the front wall and my Architect is not sure if we can get approval for that. Can I ask you experts if it is advisable to trim the front section? Does it invite cracks sometime in future? The reason behind adding toilet shower in front to make use of soil pipe and avoid heavy digging the floor from middle of house. Also, I am thinking to remove the internal door to give good space. @Rinked, I really liked your design and that is my plan B if my plan doesn’t work out. Many thanks for your help so far....See Moreside return extension ideas?
Comments (5)Hi Akira-san, Thank you for helping us! Here is a property link: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/108004703#/ We just found out that the loft is quite big and tall. So thinking of loft conversion and possibly 3rd bedroom into a family bathroom (downstairs just toilet). Do you think it’s good idea? Wondering how much budget we have to put aside to do all that.. and trying to understand if it’s feasible to make it as our dream home. So if you could give us your advice on just a rough idea how much it would come to, that would be hugely appreciated! Thanks again for your time....See MoreMonty Archer
