Need inspiration for my new house
Comments (16)I don't think it is controversial- it just comes down to budget. Assuming you have the funds then I would put an opening between the reception room and the former bathroom. I would swap the bathroom window for a glazed door to the garden. I would block up the former bathrooms door to the hallway so I could have units in an L shape and a bistro table near the window/door. As far as the bathroom. You could take a small corner or the reception and leave extra reception space (perhaps for a small dining room). Alternatively you could have a big long bathroom with room for a laundry cupboard....See MoreColour/design ideas for small cabinet. Need inspiration!
Comments (14)What kind of wood is it? If it’s real mahogany consider stripping it first. Unvarnished mahogany can be a soft nearly blush pink tone that’s really lovely just oiled. If you don’t like it you can always paint it later....See MoreNeed inspiration for house renovation/floorplan/extension
Comments (9)Hi, thanks for your response. In answer to your question, I am not a tradesman but am quite handy when it comes to DIY. I am happy to do all the finishing work, decorating, boarding out etc if required. I can install the bathroom suite and kitchen units. I have done plumbing previously. The room sizes are as follows: BATHROOM 6' 4" x 6' 3" (1.93m x 1.91m) LOUNGE 13' into bay x 10' 11" (3.96m x 3.33m) DINING ROOM 12' 1" x 11' (3.68m x 3.35m) GROUND FLOOR BEDROOM THREE/3RD RECEPTION 9' 4" x 8' 6" (2.84m x 2.59m) KITCHEN 8' 9" plus 3' 6" recess x 6' 6" (2.67m x 1.98m) BEDROOM ONE (with dormer) 15' 6" x 10' 11" (4.72m x 3.33m) BEDROOM TWO 12' 9" x 9' 4" (3.89m x 2.84m)...See Moresmall bedroom inspiration needed
Comments (13)I think ours is the same as the one I've pictured and it's been great. Both beds are slatted but they've been very sturdy. My son is 14 in 3 weeks time, and I would say he's outgrown it now but he's insisting it's still OK!! He's currently got a memory foam mattress on his and loves it. Initially we were looking at some sort of loft bed but I was always concerned if would dominate the room and make it dark. This was def a better choice for us in what looks like a similar sized room to yours (without alcoves)....See MoreKaren
