Building a Home Renovating Kitchens

Bit of random advice please!

Hi all,
A little random but want to ask. We are doing a big renovation and extension later in the year. I was just reading an article on how a lady kept her costs down by selling her kitchen and getting the 'purchasers' to do all the work taking it out etc...
Apart from the usual Gumtree and EBay are there any sites that would be good to do the same?

I have heard of this with private buyers but not with people ripping out for free (not a ripping out cost in the price they pay). There are companies like:

Who sell your kitchen for you and have it taken out and collected (I believe) but that is for a fee of what ever you make of the sale (or some do a flat rate for selling). I think that would depend on the kitchen - how nice it is and how desirable it would be to others.

It looks as if CDs are in need of storage. See through acrylic boxes for thT purpose would look better in the storage shown. Leaving the tall books in one square. Annie Sloane paint covers ANY surface would you think of painting? Check your photo display too! Those beautifully styled rooms on Houzz obviously have photo albums, which clears surface nd wall space.

1. Curtains It depend of the orientation and if you are overlooked. The double rail is a good idea to give you privacy in the evening with a second layer of curtains. Just be aware when choosing the colours of the fabric on the sides during the day, it can really suck up light and it looks like a large window. The pole could be black or copper as Minnie suggested, picking up the browns of floor and accessories. See trough curtains like light coloured veil with a simple vertical stripes pattern will maximise the natural light. 2. Rugs Definitely patterned, geometric or abstract. http://wovenground.net/modern/abstract/canevas-_-abstract/stone Low pile or high pile? It also depend on your life style ... have you got pet, children or allergies? The high pile need a bit more attention. 3. Walls The kitchen can be treated as a separate space and painted in a different colour. The room is quite narrow so keep it light and preferably not feature wall on the wider side as it will make the room feeling even more narrow. A feature wall is used to bring the room's shape back in proportion. 4. Mirror above the radiator A round mirror, or a square will break the length of the room better then a rectangular one. It will be the first thing you see entering? Have fun and send pic of the before and after :-)

I find that cupboards too usually end up with random stuff! But yes, at least then it‘s not normally visible. :-) Maybe there is a reason why there’s not too many photos around showing what you’re looking for: it doesn’t always look great. Particularly in a living room. Is there an alternative area where you can install extra storage?
