I know it's irritating when people say start again but the room seems a bit bitty and if the basin and loo were in a run of units, separated by small cupboards, with a continuous surface along the top of the whole run, it would look really rather sleek. And the pipe could run under the units, hidden by it - that's what I've done in my bathroom. Stick a mirror above the units, covering the whole wall from surface to ceiling, and side to side, and it will make the room seem much bigger. Are you having a towel radiator in there? That will add some character if you have towels that complement the colours you choose. Then add some interesting bits and pieces to make it seem less utilitarian....See MoreBathroom help please?
Comments (8)I don't think you'll be able to put a bathroom there at all. The drainage is on the wrong side of the house. ( Presuming that you want to put it in the L shape in the master bedroom?) Unless of course you have access to drains at the front of the house as well as the rear. You might however, be able to split the Master Bedroom in to two bedrooms and use bedroom 3 as the bathroom. As for moving the downstairs loo, the same applies, depends entirely on which way your joists go ( if it's floorboards ), if it's concrete, you'd have to dig out to get to the manhole, which is out the back on the right. You could possibly put a macerating toilet in, but you'd have to get a builder round to see about the drop required....See MoreQuick question about positioning of door in bathroom
Comments (5)Is that 2 towels rails in there as one is not labelled? If so Option B isn't good because of the intrusion of the towel rail by the door and the fact you'd have to walk around it to get to the vanity unit, but to be honest I'm not keen on Option A either because I'd want the towels rails close to the shower/bath and the vanity basin. I wouldn't want to walk over to the other side of the room with wet hands dripping all over the floor....See MoreBathroom not working - need help with finishing touches
Comments (34)This might sound a bit oddball but how about a vintage tall corner cabinet for storing towels, bottles, etc. Just think that if you went with a small cabinet you’d have the same issues that you’re having now. There are lots of styles which you can pick up second hand for next to nothing and you could paint or varnish to how you want (this is just an example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rustic-Tall-Corner-Cabinet-Shabby-Chic/253999560281?hash=item3b238db659:g:dasAAOSwRhFbo1mG ). I initially thought of wallpaper but think it will look too busy all over, how about getting a sample and putting into a frame for artwork. I saw this pattern (see pics) and thought it would look great with your decor, thinks it’s called Flying ducks by Mulberry. Also added a pic with idea for mirror over the sink.
