I was planning to paint the ceiling, ceiling rose and down to the picture rail white - and do the same in all the bedrooms and public rooms. Comments (12)People often suggest that blue is cold, but we have a blue on the greenish side - we had it mixed and I don't have the number any longer. Visually the nearest colour I could find online was Dulux Blue Reflection. http://www.designerpaint.com/products/dulux-paintpod/blue-reflection/80377 In this traditional room we use it with slightly shaded white woodwork and ceiling, a rather "bedroomy" persian rug that is basically cream with deeper blues, some ochre and a little peach, but we've previously used it with the paler citrussy green often called lemongrass as an accent colour for a more contemporary look, with pure white woodwork. It really is the true blue of the sky and feels like daylight, even on the darkest days - I think you might find that it works well in a darker bedroom. Comments (2)Hi, Could you provide a little more information about the room and style you are ofter, for instance the aspect of the room as this will determine how the greys appear; if it's a North facing room a blue tone will be accentuated, making the room feel a little drab; do you have any furniture such as bedside tables, bed, wardrobes you want to incorporate into the scheme, would it be possible to upload an image of the prints, maybe there's a colour on there you could pick out for the walls (or a complementary colour)? I think you could go for dark walls but I wouldn't go for overly dark walls, such that the black frames of the prints are hidden. I would go for a light or mid-sole grey with a green undertone. Comments (41)I found the Dulux Visualator, or whatever it’s called, to be pretty useless. I used it once to visualise my old sitting room colour just to see how accurate it was. My walls were Dulux Elderflower so compared it on the Dulux online thingy and it was completely different!...See More

5 years agoI think those navy colours are lovely. I too recently painted a feature wall, but in my kitchen. We used Little Greene Company’s Woad and we love it. It’s stylish in the day and so cosy at night. The rest of the walls are a soft duck egg.

5 years agoWe painted our bedroom feature wall Dulux Denim Drift because we were not brave about painting the whole room a darker colour. We love it so much so much we are thinking of painting the rest of the walls the same colour. The sun sets on our room though.
