Any woodworking gurus available for some quick pointers?

Hello lovely Houzzers :) After the three big room projects last year, I am giving it a break in January but have a little project idea I would appreciate advice on.
I have a beautiful piece of mounted teak drift wood that stands about 6ft tall. It's on a solid teak base and I want to make it a cat tree. Problem is I have no idea how to fix shelves to it. I wand the shelves to be raw edge wood sections about an inch deep and about 1 by 2 Ft surface area.
Any recommendations on fixings, brackets etc? They need to not have sharp edges of course and look nice.
Any thoughts or suggestions very much appreciated.:)
