Do gold and silver clash?

Is it OK to put a silver lamp with black shade on a table with gold legs or would it clash? I do have gold spot lights in the room and I want to place silver lamps in the room too. But the only tables I seem to like have a bit of gold on them.

I think it depends on the gold colour as sometimes a more brassy gold will clash with a silver/chrome item but i have mixed gold and silver in my residential projects as i think it creates a nice balance and some times all gold or all chrome can look at bit samey!

On that table I think a black bodied lamp would work best.

You can get gold coloured or brass taps all over, depends on the design you fancy? Matching in the cabinet door handles is an excellent idea. However, they will not go with a silver sink.............swap to white if you can.

I think a dark browny bronze is a really good colour to go with cashmere. and could also work with gold, chrome is a bit too blue. If you keep the gold handles ( I think they look really nice) then I wouldn't duplicate it too much. I would add wooden bar stools. My sister's kitchen is the same colour, she has used lots of bronze, dark browny violets and wood.
