Hi Carol, This is a tricky one. Window films won't stick very well to a textured glass surface. The only solution that we came up with is that it may be possible to buy a thin (around 5mm) piece of acrylic and get it cut to size to fit inside the window frame on the inside. You would then be able to fit window film to that. Hope that helps.

Hi, so we went for a 1600x800 tray with a glass panel 900 wide. That leaves an opening 700 and it looks great. I think a smaller opening, even with the bath positioned as it is, would feel too small. However we do get lots of splash on the floor. It's ok but a less soggy mat would be better. I'm good at being awear of this. My wife however thinks we have a wet room. I think a 1100 screen would pretty much stop all splash (but would need a longer tray as the 700 opening would look a bit small) and also a wider tray would obviously help slightly as the shower rose would be a fraction further from the opening. I'll add a photo, but excuse the mess! I still need to install the tiled bath and shower base panels

A continuous 3 glass screen isnt a great option at all - it will have to be super heavy and thick to not bend. You can easily subdivide it into at least 2 sections, it will substantially lower the price as well. I assume the locations for the fixings of the posts have been discussed with the engineer, so that they sit and are fixed to the structure? As for alternative materials for the balustrade - personally we haven't ever done it in timber, most clients prefer glass (on metal posts) or metal - the latter is much cheaper, but glass is nicer. Can you share a picture or two of your roof as is please? Happy to advise more then.

We re-did our family bathroom last year and have a shower over the bath with a glass screen. We went for quite a simple square ish design of bath - so it gives plenty of room for showering. My only top tip - go for a simple bath screen with the least amount of fittings / hinges and slidey bits because they’re all a pain to clean!!! Our old (and expensive) screen was a sliding one and we could never get to certain bits of it, and within a year or so it looked dreadful. The new one was much cheaper and is a simple screen that folds both in and out. It also has one long hinge / wall attachment - so it’s really easy to clean. A year in and it still looks like new! The other thing we did was to have all the shower fittings concealed in the wall - again makes cleaning easier. And we also ditched the taps and went for a bath filler that is controlled by the shower fitting. Again - we chose everything with a view to be easy to clean!!
