help with walk in wardrobe design?

Hi, looking to fit out a walk in wardrobe and looking for help. Mainly need hanging space but with some drawers (socks, pants etc) and some shelves (t shirts, jumpers) but no idea where to start so thought I’d ask the good people of Houzz! Also and ideas for the angled corner? I was thinking maybe a full length mirror here but any suggestions welcome. Have attached a (very) rough sketch. Ceiling height is 2310mm and door hinges the other way than in the sketch (doh). Thanks!

Comments (3)Rather than treating the 3 rooms as separate entities think as them as your private space as one. The entrance to the "wardrobe" is too geometric. Consider a wall decal (see image to break the rectangle. You have muted colours throughout. Rather than painting consider (room permitting) a mirror that makes a statement for dressing and make-up/hair etc. Maybe introduce a small console table in front of mirror to store your "essentials" (again space permitting). Then use the opposite wall area to hang clothes on rails and in sea-grass baskets store you other items. Think about introducing mood LED system with lighting that changes colour or remains static related to your mood! In the good old days lighting was done with ultra violet and infra red as they were considered ideal for healthy complexions (but we know what has happened since). Comments (16)Hi; without being rude I don’t think you have the space for both. Walk in wardrobes take up a lot more space than people realise. We have a similar layout & have 10m for it to work efficiently. I think it’s better to have a full wall of wardrobes & a luxurious bathroom. At the end to the day, a walk in only hangs your clothes! You only spend a minute in there. I wouldn’t put clothes in a bathroom - there’s steam & poop smells, and it just seems odd. You could even fit a bath in that en-suite for a hotel feel!...See MoreJonathan
5 years agoI don’t think you need to worry about the velux as you won’t put tall furniture right in front of you as you enter through the door there will be no obstruction. If n fact I would put a mirror on that 2.4m wall.
You might however want to consider moving what I assume are spotlights so that the contents of the wardrobes are illuminated.
In my opinion the most efficient layout ignores the corner and should be cost effective as you fit it with three units measuring a standard 1000mm and one measuring 900mm (also widely available).
Although it is a cool look to see all of your stuff you do have to be tidy, things can get dusty and clothes exposed to light will eventually fade. Consider getting wardrobe doors too.

5 years agoIkea PAX. 2x 100x58cm on the 201cm wall and 2x 100x35cm on the 224cm wall. Fill them with whatever you want. The corner will be gone.
