I should add, before you go ahead, that my bedroom walls are a soft grey and I'm finding it a very cold colour. I'll be painting it white soon, and have both blue bedding and a Ralph Lauren colourful orange green and cream floral set. I have a double long orange sheepskin to put on the foot of the bed and hope, with mirrors and art work it will be warm and cosy and not just a room to sleep in. Not sure about curtains yet, but likely to make velvet ones.

I was looking for advice on exactly the same dilemma! We have chosen Orla Kiely Giant Abacus for a feature wall in the living room. Grey background, cream petals with an olive centre. We have a cream carpet and cream leather suite with mid grey armchair and room doesn't have big windows, so trying to maximise the light. What colour would you suggest for the other walls? dark blue would work really nicely, and using clever light fittings would help the room look not so dark, alternatively, a soft green, shadowing from the tiles would help create a soft country feel allowing the room to feel light and airy. all the best. x
