The sofa is a very old one from French and English, purchased about 10 years ago. At least! The lamps are from Canvas and Sasson. Chairs are from Rosa Design. A-M xx

Probably not. And besides, the wallpaper is green/brown/silver and your sofa will be slate grey. Then you're talking about adding a geometric cream and gold fabric chair! The furniture is on a completely different page from the wallpaper colours as well as the floral pattern.

Do not despair, i have 2 sofas in my sitting room of a similar, but not matching colour (sort of soft gold) and a very traditional leather wingback armchair and i feel it looks great. Grey and teal are always a good combination and you really have good taste. If i could start all over, i would love a velvet sofa or chair in teal! It will look so lovely with your floor. My sister is having a new kitchen extension soon and she wants to incorporate teal velvet sofa/chairs somewhere is the scheme - a divine colour!

Thank you for your suggestions, I appreciate your advice. I am going to switch the sitting/dining areas around and I like the idea of having the end wall as the feature wall, with either wallpaper or artwork. I hadn't considered arm chairs facing each other at the far end, I like that idea - there is no TV, to be honest the sofa was initially something just to fill the space but because of that, it looks out of place. I love the idea of the colours being greys, duck egg blue or sage - if I could do my kitchen again, I would change the black granite worktops to wood and change the tiles to white or at least something much more calming than red. I think this is where my dilemma stems from - the colours in the kitchen are too dark and I'm trying to counter that by making a calmer space at the other end of the room but then I'm concerned that it won't all work together!

Aww thank you darling, yes its getting there now :), I was gonna say the same thing as Gabby, TKMaxx has some lovely ones in stock now. You can shop online if you do not have a store near. I love these orange ones and they have same in these colours but reversed.
