Source for sliding door?

I'd appreciate any information you can provide on sourcing these lovely frosted/etched glass doors. They're lovely!

Hi Pamela,

This door was a bespoke solution. The glass is 10mm toughened, acid-etched and drilled to suit the head rail.

The head rail can be bought from numerous companies. Here’s a link:

As in custom I take it. Great. Thank you for the specifications for the glass. I'm looking at using this material for a pocket door, as I'm interested in preserving precious wall space in our small home for art. Also, the glass will allow the light to pass through but create privacy. Again, a consideration for our new home. This door is brilliant. Beautiful. Thank you.

We've just paid the deposit on some grey external/white internal aluminium bifolds. Managed to find a company who had one on display so got to have a good feel for how it all worked. I couldn't bring myself to buy one that I'd not seen! It's just a shame very few companies who sell them have showrooms, out of the 8 I rang only two could show me their product!

Hi Adam, we also looked at both sliding doors and slide and turn for our opening and were shocked at the price of the slide and turns. One thing that a few designers and window providers said to us was that essentially slide and turn doors (or bifold doors) look better when they are open, and sliding doors look better when they are closed (as they tend to have fewer panels and so less view is blocked by pane). As we are based in London, where for most of the year the doors will be closed, we were advised by everyone to go with sliding doors. (NB our opening is wider, so it was a difference between 3 sliding door panels or 6/7 slide and turn panels).

Trade handles and hinges for rails and wheels. Sliding wardrobe doors don’t take any space to open, but they do add modern style to a room. Choose from pairs of sliding doors or combine panels for a custom look. Now if only they would close themselves. (We’ll mention that to our designers😉) Would you like 1 or 2?

One other consideration, is this your only access to the back garden? This may not apply to you but I'm someone who is always nipping outside to the garden either to snip a few herbs, or take some fresh air whilst looking at my plants. Whilst I love the look of large sliders and bi folds, I wouldn't want to be pulling a large heavy door across each time preferring a regular opener instead such as that in a patio door. Also do you want something more characterful to suit the style of the house and existing windows? I can understand your dilemma though.
