Front door ideas please!
Comments (15)All the windows are white, the upper floors are white, the garage door is white. The side windows by the door match the rest of the house. Why do you want to change your front door? What is the actual problem? What don't you like? Is the door broken? Generally UPVC doors with their muti-point locking systems are pretty secure. Or is it the overall look you aren't happy with and think the door will make a difference? I wouldn't pick a door you like and stick it on the house, consider the context. If you aren't changing anything else, consider another white door. If you go for something contemporary in oak or other style, consider how it fits with the inside of the house. I often see property with an 'oldie worldie' kitchen in a modern house, with carpet that looks like it belongs in a stately home, bathrooms from another era and modern laminate flooring in another room and it all feels a bit hotch potch. One trick is to take pictures of the rest of the house and put them on a (mood) board. Then put images of different doors to see if it belongs on the board. If they don't, discard them. If they do, add them to a short list....See MoreKerb appeal ideas please
Comments (14)thank you tez, I like the porch idea, the entrance would be to the side of the house and if I could afford and permitable I would do a side extension but it's an overkill as the space is enough currently, maybe a small porch style roof over the entry way, I have saved examples of these. I've never thought of using a gate, wouldnt it be a hassle to open and close the gate when parking? but it's a good security feature specially around kids. we need to consider postman too. the side space is being considered for parking as the house entrance is there. and having hedging or planting at the front...See MoreWardrobe door ideas - please help I’m stuck
Comments (12)Yes I did look at these as would have gone for something like that for sure if I could only find a contemporary version that wasn’t frosted glass - if anyone has seen any please do shout! emily, a carpenter friend of ours suggested Louvre doors - it maybe an option. I think I’m so hung up on the nice grey glossy sliding wardrobe doors I wanted that anything else isn’t matching up! If only I could get a grey glossy door in that barn style the previous person posted about I’d be a happy bunny! Thanks ever so much for taking the time to give your ideas...See Moregarage door conversion design ideas-please help!!!!
Comments (0)Hi, need advice on the frontage of our garage conversion. I've attached a sketch of the area. I don't want it to look cheap or completely out of place. What I've sketched is what the idea is at the minute but I don't think it will look right when completed. The part I'm questioning is having a door and window adjacent to the front door. The front door is a big upvc porch type thing with a window next to the door. Won't it look weird???? Area marked out in red on sketch. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even on the rest of the design....thanks in advance!!!! Whilst we love our house it is an ugly 1960s house from the outside so every little bit to make her more beautiful helps!!!!...See MoreJules Mc
