Colour for kitchen walls and blind ideas?
Comments (26)Hi Liz I had a look at the images you posted, and I think a lovely green would be great on your kitchen walls! There is a great one, called Persian Green from Colourtrend, i think it has been discontinued on their current colour charts, but is still available to buy, its a lovely warm natural green and would be fab, looking out onto your garden from inside. The blue appears to make the room look slightly cool...so maybe stay away from blues and greys! Defo change the handles, and just plain white roller blinds, with a side winder, no frills, let the light in, clean and fresh too! Hope this helps ;)...See MoreDark grey kitchen in open plan room. what colour sofa.
Comments (12)Personally I think that with the neutral palate any colour will work- but I feel that you need to choose a contemporary design to work with your German kitchen. I would choose a simple but elegant sofa and chair, choose a pale neutral (but not grey to avoid the fifty shades thing) Then I would add colour through accessories and a patterned/ textured rug. Separately I think the worktop upstand detracts from the mirror splashback behind the hob and is unnecessary. Otherwise I think the kitchen looks great....See Morekitchen colour advice
Comments (27)Hi Carolina, Thanks for weighing in. I'm not that sold on turquoise ( I've scraped something similar off most of the skirtings and window frames in the house- see remnant on kitchen window) but I do like the blue glass cabinet. Possibly not for this room ( the interior colour is where I want the focus ) but for my bathroom renovation which is happening in a couple of months. And I'd forgotten about the splashback! It's weird how stuff becomes invisible when you live with it. I'll think about how I can tie that in with the dining table, chairs and possibly window frame. Though keeping it natural is a frontrunner at the moment....See MoreWhat colour kitchen?
Comments (3)I’m with you with grey the more I work with it the more difficult it is, as I often paint and a client will say it looks blue or green ish, I often find that grey can actually be colder than white as it’s difficult to bring in other colours with grey where as it’s easy to bring in other colours to warm up a white room. I really like taupe as its light and warm but as you say it has a red tone and when I’ve put it in the space it does look a pinky colour. With regards to the floor I have oak boards else where but they won’t be suitable in the kitchen I have found a Karnden in the same colour but the planks are not the same size so I was thinking of laying it in a herringbone style or it will be tiles in a natural stone, that’s another dilemma....See MoreJonathan
