Savoyard Fireplace and lounge layout design
Comments (1)I vote for the central position; it seems there are furniture layout decisions either way, and it's such a super feature that it should be central -- my sense of symmetry also agrees!...See MoreHelp needed with downstairs layout and dark lounge
Comments (24)Does the chimney breast not go all the way up?, because the plans don't quite line up. Another consideration is are you able to move plumbing and drainage to the opposite side of the house, and regardless of budget, wanting to deal with that kind of upheaval? Of course, the obvious thing is to make the ground floor extension into one room, but I think little adjustments like lining up the inner entrance hall and opening that up would be a minimal approach to making a big difference. Here is my pop at it, but trying to not move services too far or move supporting points (of course still needs new larger lintels or more, but basically in the same places). I just moved living areas to places that the natural light already serves... and no dark corridors added....See MoreLounge layout. Help!
Comments (3)How high is the window? Could you do something like this? Window seat incorporating the radiator though. How many do you need to seat regularly? I might be tempted to go for a long sofa on the back wall with a chair (maybe a swivel one) somewhere towards the bottom left with tv bottom right. You can always add a nice beanbag/pouffe for occasional seating A corner/chaise could work but you tend to have that awkward corner bit where nobody wants to sit. Perhaps try one out in a shop? Alternatively you could have a bookcase on the long wall (with toy storage in the corners for easy access ) with a sofa in front. Personally i’d have the bookcase the same colour as the walls so it doesn’t overwhelm the room...See MoreHelp with open plan lounge layout
Comments (4)Hi HU-67856628, it looks like you have a lovely open plan space. Here are a couple of tips from us: - Move the sofas away from the wall and bring further into the room this will bring it together and make it feel cosier. - Go for a large rug, this will anchor the space. Make sure the front feet of the sofas are on top of the rug. - Consider how the alcoves can be used, could you add built ins to create storage and open shelving to display any accessories or books etc. Hope this helps! We are an online interior design company and would love to support you to achieve a living room that is warm, cosy and works for you and your family. It would be great to have a chat with you to discuss how we can help you and learn more about your project, feel free to drop us a message or an email to hello@thelivinghouse.co.uk or check out our website - www.thelivinghouse.co.uk...See MoreUser
