Need help with kitchen (re) design please
Comments (0)Looking for design advice and help with 3D rendering of the design please. Happy to pay for the consultation. This is a new kitchen, done as part of a full refurbishment. Due to some structural issues elsewhere in the house, the initial layout was a compromise. But, now the structural changes situation has changed allowing for hopefully a better kitchen design. Have posted earlier on here and received some great advice. So, we are having one last go at getting the kitchen design right. Hopefully, you all can help me achieve this :-) Below is a picture of the kitchen and the measurements, with the following change : the vertical radiator and the door next to it is now gone. So, its a long wall there.. Also, Hob run has to stay as it is. Hob and oven don't have to be close as we don't use the oven much for cooking. Here is our working (re) design: [Its not set in stone, so, please feel free to comment :-) ] - Move the tall units to left wall (i.e, to 1 in the diagram) -3,4,5 : Long run of base units with worktop , sink in the middle, dishwasher to the left of the sink. and 7,8,9: shallow half height wall units; with glass splash back. The corner bases of 5 and possibly also 3 will be unusable. That is okay. Not sure : 7,9 : fill with the same half height wall units as 8 or use open shelving for 4 and 5 and use half height wall units for 6? Thank you all...See MoreHelp please gurus: can I fit our desired kitchen design in this space?
Comments (3)Thank you so much Jonathan for taking time to draw something out. Your alternative is close to a path we did consider, but the cooker is dual fuel and moving the gas to the r/h side now is a no-no. Moreover, the external wall is on the left side (as you look at the picture) and this is where the extractor must go given the way the beams run. Practical considerations eh! Re Independent help. I agree, and we have gone down this path (with independent shops), but all the designs presented so far have been...uninspired. Just to be absolutely clear, as I think my sketch is a little confusing, in my own example there are no units proposed down the right hand side; just a f/f at the nearest end. In this respect, I'm not quite sure where the space saving would be between your own and mine, but I'm likely just being a bit dense? (Do ignore the circle on the end of the "G"; that was a draft suggestion from my wife which I didn't erase from my sketch!) Many thanks again....See MoreKitchen design help please, diykitchens
Comments (38)Minnie’s layout looks gorgeous :), and she is correct you can buy extra paint from DIY however bear in mind that it’s sold as a two part and almost impossible to paint by hand as the lacquer added is meant to be sprayed on. However most people seem to successfully paint theirs using a matching service so you might want to bear that in mind. And please reconsider the integrated bin, it’s amazing and you can have just one with a handy drawer at the top. It’s my favourite thing having the bin next to the sink on one side and the dishwasher at the other. I can scrape, rinse and load in the dw without moving. Plus it looks so much neater not having a box sat around your kitchen....See MorePlanning for kitchen extension help please ? Area use help / design
