Hi! Great look. Can you please advise what material is on the front face of the overhang, and what was used for the soffit? Thanks

The front entry overhang is a black powder coated metal C-channel and the soffits are cedar.

Well my kitchen designer had done ours in the 20mm with an overhang for seating. We are making it 30mm now but only to take the depth of an induction hob - otherwise 20mm would be fine. However, our island does have the side panels extending out to take some weight so it depends on your design?

We definitely see what you mean, this really doesn’t look like a good solution, although tile corners are always tricky. Usually when using a plastic tile trim, we’d go for rounded one that you fit under the tiles. We did something else for our client in a recent bathroom project- no trims, just white silicone and she’s very happy with the result. We suggest you try it too! Everything can be fixed, so don’t worry, we’re sure it will look great at the end. Let us know if you’d need any help..good luck!

Thanks all. When the templater came he confirmed there would be a 25mm overhang, so I assumed it would be over the posts too. They didn’t give me any drawings to ‘sign off’. I’ve had such a nightmare with my kitchen...the company I bought the units from we’re awful-wrong at every turn and everything messed up-really stressful and took a year to sort (no kitchen and 3 kids😱). I just wanted this done and thought it was really simple job...feeling very naive...and disappointed.

You are having a line of 120cm units leading up to that pillar or is that a wall dividing 2 rooms? Where is the rest of the kitchen going? I am confused by your layout, nevermind the 2cm overhang. Can you post a sketch of the layout of this space and where your units are going.
