Crittal Style Aluminium sliding or folding doors
Comments (186)Fiona - I’ve been looking into replacing some doors with Crittal style and have contacted loads of suppliers and companies. The one that I’ve been most impressed with is the company mentioned above by Lou Valdini - Merlin Windows in Yorkshire. (I’m in the East Midlands). They gave me a competitive quote really quickly and then I got a quote from the fitter mentioned. (They fit across the UK and they link in with Merlin to ensure timings etc). It’s likely that we will go ahead in the next few months. (Just need to convince husband as he prefers chunky timber 😂)...See MoreKitchen Island - hob or sink?
Comments (58)@Damian Farrell, the induction hob I've had since... what.. July or August? I think? Not that long. Took a while to get used to it, having always cooked on gas. Advantages: very quick, easy to clean, you can let it automatically turn off after a certain time. Disadvantages: sometimes the pans make annoying noises, has something to do with the resonance of the magnetic field I think? I don't know. But it can be a bit annoying. Make:Schott-Ceran, but the downdraft is from a Dutch company called Airo Design. Don't think they export to other countries. Anyway, almost every company does them now. Bora gets good reviews, Miele, Siemens... The videos on youtube show that the steam goes down and you think, yeah... right... But it really does go down. It works just as good, if not better than a regular one that is over the hob. I'm happy with it....See Morehelp with rooflight layout
Comments (10)Are they roof lights or are they opening like Velux? Our new kitchen/diner faces south-south/west. It has a thinner part which is the "dining room" bit which is 4.25m x 2.75 in which we have a 2.2m wide Panoramic door leading to the patio at the rear of the house. The other end of the room is 5.75m x 4.3m. We have had a smallish fixed window - 80cm wide x 1m high, put in to work around the kitchen units. However, we do have to largish Velux windows in the kitchen part of the room and I can absolutely say, having the option to being able to open them is invaluable. Despite having the Panoramic doors, the stable door which opens onto the garden and the back door of the adjoining boot room open this summer, we were pleased to open the Velux for a through breeze. Even before we moved the kitchen from one end of the room to the other, we always opened the Velux window, because the flat roof could really warm up in the sun all day. So I would say, if you're in the slightest bit concerned about the possibility of the room getting too hot, I'd try to go for a couple of opening roof windows if the budget can stand it....See Morelighting design
Comments (76)Oo those are stunning - especially with the gold top! Darent ask the price , eek. From the same Pooky seller?? Yes I’m going to get a sample of the one she suggested to try out as the radiator won’t be fixed on that dining room wall for a good while so not been in a massive rush. The floor is finally going down next week (omg) so I’m frantically trying to finish painting the eggshell door cos I’m messy and don’t want to ruin the floor, ha ha. Not sure what you would call the look really and if I wasn’t south facing then I wanted be antique mirror on the kitchen wall with the brass shelving to give that effect but it will blind me so have to watch where I put it. I had an amazing pic from a magazine of the look I wanted but can’t find it now. It’s from a bar but was OTT really. The OH just won’t spend out on any fancy things anymore. He says everything I want making now will be out of pallets! LMAO...See MoreKirsty Kirby
