Comments (13)New year, new dining room. Thank you for all your suggestions and advice, they have been really helpful and we are finally making progress and incorporating many of your ideas. We have freshened up the room with pale cream walls and replaced the lighting with a central vintage style glass coolie shade from Chestnut Lighting and a Dunelm Wooden Floor Lamp. The nails are in the wall and we will be grouping a collection of pictures and photos on one wall rather than having then randomly spaced. They don't look straight in the photo but they look better in real life! The room is now cleared out as we are waiting on wood flooring in an antique oak stain with a sheen. We are then thinking of a circular cream rug or carpet with bound edges. We have trialled different layouts and the smaller unit is going and the larger one is going on the the blank wall behind the door. This opens up the room. We are getting near the finishing line and I will post final photos before too long, I hope....See MoreCo-ordinating lighting for open plan ground floor!
Comments (8)Most of those work together as the brass element is repeated. What flooring are you having in the kitchen (which looks great) as that could really add warmth? Ignore the first pic as that is £xxxxx but I thought the trumpet could be fun for the piano room although DH may hate it! The brass doesn’t match on this particular wall light but something like this would go and should be easy to find. I love the pearl drop light so thought I’d show it to you in case you like it. I really like the pendant in your first pic so have shown this one too, it’s reminiscent of 1930s Parisian jazz clubs. I assume the eichholtz one is actually chrome (as most tend to be!), do you want a similar brass version?...See MoreHelp for styling and furnishing a new build kitchen please
Comments (32)😂 You're welcome I'm just putting your ideas together in one place! I used the walnut table but as I said before I think it may need a rug against the dark floor but see what you think. The rug size may be do'able (8x10), you would need to tape it out when you're in the house so it doesn't encroach on the bar stool area. I have zero photoshop skills so just chose a rug I could edit in but just to give you an idea (Although obviously the table is the wrong way round!). Maybe have the clock over the table to zone it and bounce some light and some marble and brass shelves would look great by the breakfast bar?...See MoreUser
