industrial style light fitting but no light shade

we inherited this light fitting when we moved into the house but the owner had taken the light shade. I'm struggling to find a light shade that fits the existing fitting but have no confidence in how to remove it and start again. does anyone have any advice? thanks in advance :)

Ah it looks like it had a glass cover that just sat into the inside and the screws held it in place. Like a lantern effect.

If you measured the diameter of the inside then you might find a replacement?

I think it's a fantastic look and so adaptable. There are big moves in introducing a luxury edge in to the industrial style. Also many scandi looks are often verging on industrial. Love me a bit of wrought iron and Edison bulbs.

Ask the electrician to extend cable so that you can use it as trendy low hanging pendant perhaps over the end of a breakfast bar or design a coffee station area. Try also pulling it's colours for your accents: splashes of strawberry red, lime green or bottle green all work incredibly well with white.

@ Chris Goodchild - Thanks for the comments Chris... we find the barns that have the deep texture and richness of colour that we are looking for in Europe. Once we have found what we are looking for we then carefully dismantle the barn and ship the materials back to our stores in the UK. It is a labour of love and we really enjoy what we are doing and finding new ways in which to use the material. Funny to think that in the recent past these old buildings would have been demolished and the materials burned to make way for some brick monstrosity! :-)

Definitely had a glass shade. What your looking for is a replacement with a neck so the lip sits on top of the screws. This site has a good selection but double check the diameter of the fitting: https://jmoncrieff.co.uk/John-Moncrieff-replacement-glass-light-shades/John-Moncrieff-clear-globe--with-neck-in-various--sizes- Ebay is a good source for replacement shades as well.

thanks so much! ideally we'd like an industrial style dome shade to go with the chain - not sure they will fit though?
