Comments (24)Hi Cake lady thanks for your comment. I have considered the wood effect tiles. However the kitchen adjoins a hall which has an oak laminate floor. I'm concerned the two different types of wood will clash. what do you think? Good to know they're low maintenance. I'm steering well away from gloss tiles as spent years trying to keep black gloss tiles clean in our bathroom. Finally replaced last year !...See Moretan leather sofa dilema
Comments (7)Have you considered a textured or even a stripe carpet? Easy on the eye they make a great base shade for rooms – on floors, walls, curtains or fabrics – plus they suit both period and contemporary schemes. It looks sophisticated in living rooms, it makes bedrooms feel soothing and creates a welcoming space in entrances. The simplicity also means that the simplicity of a grey floor makes it a very practical investment for any room in the home. Comments (16)Your space does not give you much flexibility so I agree it’s important to get the right furniture. I would definitely try changing the areas around. Your present sofas are large and bulky . A more streamlined design would do wonders to update your look , but I would not go for corner sofas . They are not space saving . My daughter has one that should seat five but in reality only three can sit comfortably . Your tv dominates this space so a change around might reduce its impact . I would also remove the dado rail ( unless it’s a period feature ) . The fireplace surround is elegant and would not look out of place if that became your dining area .I recently removed my living room curtains and replaced them with blinds . The illusion of extra space was instant . I do hope you find a solution....See Moreminnie101
