I need some things to complete our bedroom!
Comments (41)I would put the pair of glass candle lamps together on the right side chest and opt for sidelamps with more oomph - something bigger and squat. You could also add other ornaments in different heights grouped together - don't split matching items too symmetrically, balance is key but symmetry may be boring. A geometrically patterned rug or two will look nice alonside the bed and/or at the foot of it. A narrow console unit would look nice beneath the tv; you could go for vintage as your style is very simple. Don't be afraid to dare a little - playing safe is not always the safest!!! Add a comfy reading chair with lampstand and cushions and a footwarmer or plaid on the bed and some more wall art - the heart is a great start but add more. Think layers. You have a great basic palate to funk it up a lot!...See Morehelp needed with our extension plans
Comments (4)Hi Nicola, Well the extension will certainly give you much more room - it's going to be fabulous! I would not join the existing sitting room to the new space at the rear at all. If you are worried that it will be dark then do something with mirrors and lighting. It would be better to keep the sitting room separate as it is likely to be an 'evening' room and not necessarily needing to be connected to the busier 'daytime' parts of the house. When you connect all the rooms up, you can often end up ruining your furniture layout (which you eluded to) and all the rooms end up being walk throughs. However, I might be tempted to make the relationship between the 2 rear spaces better - kitchen and diningroom? Do they need to be separate at all? Could you do a lovely glass wall between them like this image? Just suggestions.......best of luck with your project. Nicky...See MoreGlass Box Extension
Comments (0)minimal windows #slidingdoors were installed to this new #glassboxextension. The minimal windows system works exceptionally well in glass extensions as they create a cohesive minimalistic aesthetic alongside the frameless #structuralglassbox. They also allow ventilation into the property and can be opened as much or a little as required to achieve the desired amount of air flow. Comments (1)Hi, I've got a conservatory that faces SE and it does get very hot, not just in the summer but also in spring when the sun is low and shines directly in. It is lovely in there on the right day though. What I've done to manage the temperature is: kept the exterior-quality doors between the conservatory and the house so the house can be kept cool even when the conservatory is oven-like, the roof has a reflective surface to reduce some of the rays, the windows have both blinds and blackout curtains which I close on the sunniest days, the furniture is heat and fade resistant, plants have to be moved out on the hottest days. The above makes it sound like the worst room in the house but actually it is lovely so long as it is carefully managed. Good luck, whatever you decide....See MoreE D
