Stonework and door colour
Sorry to be a thread hog. I've got to pick a neutral (cool, pale, stoney) masonry colour for my window and door surrounds, and a shade of yellow for the front door, by Monday morning. Can anyone help? The painter prefers Dulux paint . The options are below. Ash white, pale embers, misty peak or leaf dew perhaps? And either lemon or citron peel for the front door.

Comments (20)I'd suggest Farrow & Ball new Inchyra Blue. The inspiration for this colour actually comes from the classic Georgian Inchyra House in Scotland where they have used it on the exterior doors of their barn. F&B website indicates this aged blue grey, can read more grey, blue or even green depending on the light. A great alternative to charcoal. Comments (9)Hi Mally, From the image it looks like your house has soft mud bricks on the exterior. Bricks have a dominant character in nature. They may steal the focus point at glance from your front door. Deep-tone coloured doors complements brick I would advise to have white or same colour shaded windows and door frames. Dark shades can be elegant, welcoming colors . Additional tip , you might consider carrying the same style to the garage door. As it will create a design flow throughout the front view. 4 years agoED frosted grey. With some yellowy stains coming through that I need to get the painter back to sort out. His stain blocker didn't work.

4 years agoI think you need a horizontal bar at the same height as your top bar on the gate and their bottom bar on the railings.
Separately I think when someone doesn’t notice damage to their property they also don’t notice any covert repairs.

4 years agoHere's that yellow. I notice for the first time that despite the Dulux colour charts I was told to pick from, the painter has clearly gone off and got some other sort of paint for both stonework and door. Colour is good though so I don't mind. I've done a chair in the leftover yellow too.

We both seem to love yellow and snap! I have a similar chair painted in Farrow & Ball 'Babouche', not quite as vibrant as yours but then I have just had a rather 'bright' yellow kitchen fitted lol
