You can use side panels or a deck/surround to create what is, in effect, a free standing bath that would work well aesthetically and, optionally, as part of a wetroom-style bathroom. Deep soaking tubs are especially effective for such projects; they have smaller footprint, which affords more room in the shower area, but their greater depth makes them exceptionally comfortable.

Hi. Hopefully the pros will have some ideas but the layout seems a bit tricky re the width, the soil pipe and presumably you want a mirror over the vanity?! It might work with the bath at the opposite end of the room to where it is now and then encase shower and bath behind glass as per pic. Have the loo between the windows but hopefully there's some room for manoeuvre so it can move left a little and have the vanity where the bath currently is. It does mean you're facing the loo as you walk in though :( I might consider a smaller mirror over the vanity with lights and then what's left of the wall on the bedroom door side you could mirror to make it feel wider. Antiqued mirror could look great depending on what other materials you use . What style is the bedroom?

Hi guys What is everyones opinion on a free standing bathtub that would be pushed right up against the wall to save space? Would this be practical for cleaning and water spillages etc? My own preference would be to have a bathroom on the top floor - and I think it would be worth getting a second opinion from a builder or plumber. My house is a Victorian terrace with similar layout. Our attic had two bedrooms, but we reconfigured and made a large master with en-suite. The en-suite is actually at the front of the house, and our pipe work and family bathroom is exactly where yours is. It hasn’t been a problem - the pipe work from the attic en-suite runs in the space between the attic floor and the first storey ceiling, and it comes out and joins the main soil pipe from the family bathroom.
