The frames look kind of squished on some of the shelves, but don't worry about that now. I'm not a big fan of stuff on the top of the tall unit nor how much you have on top of the short unit. I think if you remove the things from the top of the taller one, you'll like it much better. Then, put only one or three things on each shelf, and layer some. For example: put a couple of candles in front of a framed photo -- give it some depth. The shelf unit is dark, so you might want to keep your ornaments, etc. a lighter colour.

I would start with her bedroom, that's the area she wil rest. Keep it neutral and and peaceful. Make the curtains cheerful that will be the first thing she'll see when she wakes up. A four feet bed will be comfortable for her and find out how much it will cost to raise the bed ...at a certain age it is more comfortable to get in and out of. Table lamps which by a touch will light up a big alarm clock... Older people always want to know the time! Two bedside tables. Soft carpet for her feet and a big collage on the wall with photos of her family. I would get rid of the wardrobe is is so huge and if you look on your local ebay and put you postcode in you will be able to get a good bargain. Look for a comfy chair too with a floorlight for reading. If space a nice little table (local ebay) will make it complete. Your mum prefers her wall painted but again a roll of cheerful wallpaper for one wall in her bedroom will make it special for her. Try to get rid of all the clutter like those two shopping trolleys perhaps in a cupboard in the hall? I have done a lot of houses up on a shoestring and it is a challenge but can be so satisfying. One thing I have learnt ....ALWAYS finish one room completely before going on to the next room. It helps when you feel a bit down about the project and one look in the finished room gives one a big boost to continue!!! Good Luck.

My advice to you as a landlord myself:- You can't put vinyl tiles over the existing as you need to stick them on with preferably floor tile adhesive, which would ruin the tiles underneath, plus putting anything over the tiles other than sheet materials would leave gaps, it'll look silly. So, I would say no to the vinyl tiles idea. They're certainly not meant to be removable, or put on walls. I would say yes to the vinyl flooring as carpet in a bathroom is unsanitary and washable flooring is much better. Also ask if you could have someone make a cupboard that will fit underneath the sink for storage, that way it will fit correctly and also be a nice addition. However, you still wouldn't have room for all the stuff in baskets, the bin and a laundry bin in inside it. You may fit the bin in, but the Laundry basket may have to live somewhere else. You could also ask for permission to put up a vanity cupboard over the sink instead of the mirror, this can then store more stuff. I don't think you can replace the tiles, so don't go with white paint it won't look right.

MATH the terracotta panels ( Ladrillos panelas) are very brittle so I doubt if topping a wall with them would be that good they are okay in suspended ceilings, shelves and similar but on a wall top you would definitely need to render them quite thickly. The dimensions you give work out to 60 cubic metres so I see why you want an alternative to blocks, casting concrete or using lava. I had a google for Spanish concrete panels along the lines of gravel boards, don't know if you speak any Spanish so it's more or less 'panelas de hormigon', I can't find anything useful on Spanish Google at the moment but next week I have to go to my local builders merchant so I'll ask him if he has any ideas.
