Kitchen cabinet lights - Tone

I've got neutral (4000k) downlighters but really not sure what todo about under the cabinets.

Do I go with a warmer white or the same?

Has anyone got real world pics of both tones?

Personally I think it looks odd if they don’t match.
However I suspect you are asking the question as you find the colour of your ceiling spotlights cold against your kitchen which can often be the case in very pale kitchens.

We have these......we had a long reel of it ( not the little pack of four as shown - just can't find it ), you get a remote and can change the hue to suit . You can have them on 3 different settings for each colour, ie soft, medium, strong etc - We mainly use the white or the cream depending on night and day.

Every now and then we go mad and have Lilac...........works well with grey, turquoise is nice too.

Clearly white or cream is better, we have them above and below the counter top, and they match well on white with the spots and the cooker lights.

Hello Trish, How this idea works best is when the top cabinets are situated on the same colour background... In this way they blend... I like the two tone look but prefer cabinets that are squared off rather than rounded as they are. Also if it was me i'd have painted that pull out tray and personally don't like the plate storage open cupboard.. Separate shelves would be much nicer. Consider more interesting handles... Strip leather would be a nice look here.. Or something brassy which is great on dark colours... For a sleek look touch open mechanism hinges. The same two tone can be done in the reverse if you want a dark look overhead.. It all really depends on the aesthetic preferred.. In all cases go for a matt finish.. :))

Hello, I am currently redecorating my kitchen which has orange ish beech cabinets. Unfortunately I am unable to replace or paint the doors, so.... How can I ensure that the wall colour I chose does not appear to make them any more orange? I created a rough idea book for how I envisaged the kitchen looking. I originally wanted a taupe kind of colour on the walls. I have done some research on good old Google, but what I've read is very contradictory! Some articles say choose a warm colour to blend them in, others say a cool colour to contrast not add to ! So how do u choose a wall colour that won't make the cabinets more orange? Any advice greatly appreciated :) thank you!

How did you resolve the kitchen wall lighting in the end?? I would be really interested to know what you did and whether you are happy with the result, as I am in the process of purchasing a house with exactly the same set up on the wall where the hob is, and am wondering how best to create ambient/task lighting over that worktop.

Agree with Hugh, I also have the RGBW led striplights with controller, any colour you want with 3 default white, warm, neutral and cool

Thanks all, yes I've seen the RGB strips.

I've wired the lights off the main radial so no plug.
