Comments (148)No! Don’t use pink stuff paste or a magic eraser! Pink stuff spray is fine but not the paste. We have spare doors at work and have done tests on them. You should not use a product that is harsh such as paste because in time it will take the surface of the door off. If however your doors are so bad that they are ready for replacing you have nothing to loose. I’m now monitoring the removal of marks with baby wipes. For some strange reason they seem to shift a multitude of sins....See MoreKitchen - Gloss or Matt?
Comments (12)It really is a matter of personal choice. White gloss kitchens are by far one of our most popular ranges...and they have been for a very long time! I don't think it'll be a design that will disappear anytime soon. That said, matt finish has definitely been growing in popularity. It comes down to what you like the look of more. Gloss is probably a bit more 'showy' and will reflect the light around more. Matt is more subtle and softer....See MoreMatt vs Gloss Kitchen Units?
Comments (7)I have a super Matt dove grey handleless kitchen at my main home and a gloss white kitchen in my holiday home in Somerset. I can compare the two. It’s easy to clean the gloss doors. Either wipe with a damp cloth and buff up or use Vuplex. Job done. Granted they’re gloss so show the marks more easily. Super matt doors, now although they don’t necessarily show the marks, they are there and once the light shines in the right direction on them they look bad. Even if you look at them at a specific angle with the light on them you can see the marks. Nightmare. I’m speaking from experience here. How do you clean them? Well I use a magic eraser and sometimes it works well, other times not so well. Vuplex, mmmm, well I’m of the opinion that this product should be used on gloss only although that’s not what I’m told by my door manufacturer. So the other alternative is a soapy cloth, wrung out almost dry, wipe over and then buff up. Tried them all and no the heavy marks are still there .... and I’m not a mucky person. That’s just my experience and opinion. For looks I prefer the Matt as opposed to gloss but the cleaning of them is another matter .... unless anyone has any other ideas, and I’d gladly welcome them....See MoreThe big debate on kitchen units .... gloss or matt finish??
Comments (7)I have both. In my main home I have super matt. Granted you can’t see the fingerprints but they are there. However when the light shines at a specific angle you can see the marks and they are a sod to get off. I use a magic eraser and it works ok but they’re not really suitable for big areas so I resort to a Spontex cloth soaked in soapy warm water, wipe over and buff up with a microfibre cloth. Sometimes though you can still see marks. In my caravan I have gloss doors. Easy to clean. Easier than super matt. Both doors I have are handleless so I try to not push the actual door but use the ledge provided. If you’re just looking for a slab door which can be reproduced by companies who have the appropriate machinery there is now a board available that has fingerprint technology. It’s called Serica. It relatively new and has 12 colours to choose from....See MoreSonia
