What colour to paint my picket fence?
Comments (23)Have you painted your fence yet? Just bought a sample pot of fresh rosemary but I didn't think it looked so good with the natural greens of the garden and have opted for willow instead. I've painted the bike shed and our new wheelie bin picket fence screen. The shed doors are Wilt Thyme from the previous paint job but I may give them a cream make-over....See MoreFence colour thoughts
Comments (8)Well spotted - the only bit that remains is the tall ‘Purple Plum’ tree in front and the privet hedging along the side. The rest has been now removed (after many years of neglect) so the fence is all exposed. I’m actually also having a gate installed too. It’s actually pretty unused dead space but because of the retaining wall on one side it’s really awkward to put a divider up to separate front and back garden with the approach from the side so actually it’s an enclosed wrap around garden right now. I hope to side extend or at the least add a porch creating the front door facing front with parking in front also. But that’s longer term goals. It’s just grass in the front and because if the fence it’s not really visible if you are walking past. The front windows have a bit of a further reaching view of green hills in the distance (a valley of houses in between). Anyone walking past is likely looking there :)...See MoreGarden fence colour

Comments (18)Afternoon everybody. So here is the latest image of the garden. Slowly getting there. I have noticed a weird thing in that when rain water hits the patio, it collects in the areas marked with arrows. The areas collect water, dirt and leaves and looks unattractive on the eye. It's also important to note that the texture of the Indian Sandstone paving tiles has ridges or patterned wells in some of the tiles if that makes sense. The texture isn't flat smooth for every tile. Some tiles have a natural gap, which I believe collects the water and prevents it from running down and off. Is there anything I can do about this? As you can see from the image, the garden is bone dry on the whole but pretty horrible in the said/arrowed areas. Thanks for your support....See MoreDaisy England
