Hi. I must admit the carpet looks fine in the photo but if it's grotty I would just get one rug. I'd go for something in a beigey colour as white will make the space feel smaller. Can you move the sofa away from the curtains just even a couple of inches? The throw is lovely but perhaps try it folded over the arm? I might also add a couple of lighter cushions, either something with the moss green or the bronze that's in the cushion. I'd also accessorise the coffee table ( include flowers or a plant for some greenery) and add art or a mirror over the sofa if allowed. Do you have a photo of the existing light?

Hi. I would probably just paper one wall. What's opposite the window wall? I don't know what colour sofas you're having but you could either pick a pale grey or white for the walls to pick up the colours in the paper or look at pale'ish neutrals such as clay, greige, taupe, etc. I've had a south facing pale blue living room before with an oak floor and it worked well if you wanted to stick with the blue. You can just add a warm accent colour for accessories but your floor will warm it anyway

If you've re-plastered and removed the shelf from above, etc., I'd just put a plant on it, like a Philodendron. Something that can live in a dark(ish) corner. If you put a table/floor uplighter behind it that will shine up the walls and light up that corner in the evenings, I think it could be a lovely effect (this one is from (loads available, for example on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Astro-4532-Limina-Uplighter-Plaster/dp/B005LVJPH2 )

Estate agent plan. Door and awkward corner on right side, current homeowners have main sofa on that wall. Gas flame fire and flue on top wall. TV point currently top left corner. Left wall (facing roughly SW) and bottom wall (facing roughly SE) have window and radiators.
